Course Structure — Units of Competency

BSB50120 consists of 12 units of competency — 5 core units and 7 elective units — drawn from the BSB Business Services Training Package (Release 8.0), developed by the Future Skills Organisation.

The qualification is structured around the business operations specialisation, with electives chosen based on industry consultation and employer feedback to develop practical communication, operational management, recruitment, and strategic networking skills.

Delivery at Wyatt Education Group consists of 312 hours of blended classroom instruction (6 hours per week over 50 weeks) plus 156 hours of structured blended online support sessions. In accordance with CRICOS requirements, a minimum of 20 scheduled face-to-face contact hours per week are delivered on-campus at our Bankstown campus. Assessment is through observation/practical skills, written knowledge assessments, case studies, and project-based tasks.

📅 Attendance Monitoring

International students must maintain satisfactory attendance as required under student visa condition 8202. Wyatt Education Group monitors attendance and will contact you if attendance falls below the required level.

📈 Course Progress

Student academic progress is monitored each study period under National Code 2018 Standard 8. If you are at risk of not meeting course progress requirements, we will provide an intervention and support plan before any action is taken.

Language, Literacy, Numeracy & Digital Skills (LLN+D)

All prospective students are assessed prior to enrolment to ensure the course is suitable for their learning needs and current skill level. This is a requirement under the Standards for RTOs 2025 (Outcome Standard 2.2).

Pre-Enrolment Assessment Process

    Written LLN+D assessment completed by the prospective student and marked by a TAE-qualified staff member.
  • Step 3 — Course Suitability Checklist
    Completed jointly by the student and trainer to confirm the course meets the student's learning needs and goals.
  • Step 4 — Feedback & Support Planning
    Students who need additional support are advised before enrolment. Reasonable adjustments are put in place where required.
