CPC31320 practical training is also conducted at our Lidcombe facility (15 minutes by train from Bankstown).
Yes. Wyatt Education Group holds the following active registrations:
- RTO 46003 — Registered with the Australian Skills Quality Authority (ASQA)
- CRICOS 04130B — Commonwealth Register of Institutions and Courses for Overseas Students, authorising delivery of education to international students on student visas

We operate under the Standards for RTOs 2025 (F2025L00354), the ESOS Act 2000, and the National Code of Practice for Providers of Education and Training to Overseas Students 2018.
We offer four nationally recognised AQF qualifications across trade, business, and construction management:
A Skilled Migration Pathway refers to an educational route that can contribute towards meeting the requirements for a skilled migration visa in Australia (such as subclass 190 or 491). Wyatt's courses in tiling (CPC31320) and building & construction (CPC50320) are linked to occupations on Australia's Skills in Demand occupation lists.
Yes. Wyatt Education Group welcomes both domestic (Australian citizens and permanent residents) and international students. Entry requirements and fees may differ for domestic students. Contact us at info@wyatt.nsw.edu.au to discuss domestic enrolment options and any applicable government funding or subsidies.

The Job Ready Program (JRP) is administered by Trades Recognition Australia (TRA) and is the pathway for international students who complete a CRICOS-registered trades qualification to obtain a TRA skills assessment — required for skilled migration visa applications in trade occupations.
CPC31320 maps to ANZSCO 333211 — Wall and Floor Tiler. After graduating, JRP-eligible students:
- Apply for a Provisional Skills Assessment from TRA
- Gain employment as a tiler in Australia under a Skills Assessment Employment Record
- Apply for a Final Skills Assessment after the required employment period
- Use the TRA Final Skills Assessment to support a subclass 190 or 491 visa application
Graduates of CPC31320 are qualified to work as:
- Wall and Floor Tiler (ANZSCO 333211) — residential and commercial
- Tiling subcontractor — operating your own business
- Specialist tiler — pool tiling, mosaic work, heritage restoration, large-format tiles
- Site tiler — working on major construction and infrastructure projects
NSW has an ongoing shortage of qualified tilers. The Australian Government's Jobs and Skills Australia forecasts continued strong demand in construction trades through 2029. Median annual salary for qualified tilers in NSW: AUD $70,000–$90,000+ depending on experience and specialisation.
Both pathways lead to the same AQF Level 3 qualification, but they are structured very differently:
- Traditional apprenticeship: 3–4 years, employer-sponsored, wage-earning — available to Australian citizens/permanent residents. Not generally available to international student visa holders.
- CPC31320 via CRICOS RTO: 52 weeks, structured course delivery, available to international students on student visas, aligned to TRA JRP requirements for skilled migration.
For international students on a skilled migration pathway, the CRICOS RTO route is the correct option.
Wyatt provides the major equipment and materials required for practical training. Students are expected to bring:
- Steel-capped boots (mandatory on construction sites)
- Knee pads (strongly recommended — you will spend significant time kneeling)
- Personal protective equipment — safety glasses, P2 dust mask, work gloves
- A laptop or tablet for accessing online learning resources
As you progress through the course, you may wish to invest in your own hand tools (trowels, levels, tile spacers). This is not mandatory during training but is necessary for employment. Your trainers will advise on recommended tools at the appropriate time.
In NSW, any residential building work (including wall and floor tiling) valued at more than AUD $5,000 in labour and materials must be carried out by a licensed contractor. The relevant licence is issued by NSW Fair Trading.
Completing CPC31320 qualifies you to apply for the relevant contractor licence. Licence requirements, fees, and processes are administered by NSW Fair Trading independently of Wyatt Education Group.

CPC50320 maps to ANZSCO 133111 (Construction Project Manager) — an occupation that regularly appears on skilled migration lists due to Australia's sustained construction demand.
Both are qualifications within the CPC Construction, Plumbing and Services Training Package, but they serve different career pathways:
- CPC31320 — trade-level qualification for tilers on the tools. Hands-on, site-based work.
- CPC50320 — management-level qualification for those overseeing construction projects. Office-based and site supervision.
Some students complete CPC31320 first to establish trade credibility and then progress to CPC50320 to move into management roles — a natural career progression in the construction industry.
Wyatt's entry requirements for CPC50320 are: Year 12 or equivalent, IELTS 6.0, age 18+, and satisfactory LLN assessment. Prior construction experience is not a mandatory entry requirement.
However, students with prior construction experience will find the course content more immediately applicable to their existing knowledge. Students with no construction background will develop foundational knowledge through the course curriculum.

Visas & Migration
5 questionsInternational students must hold a Student Visa (Subclass 500). To apply, you will need:
- Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE) issued by Wyatt via PRISMS
- Valid Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) for the visa duration
- Evidence of English proficiency (IELTS 6.0 or equivalent)
- Evidence of sufficient funds — AUD $29,710/year (Department of Home Affairs estimate for 2026)
- Genuine Temporary Entrant (GTE) statement
- During enrolled study: Up to 48 hours per fortnight
- During scheduled course vacations: Unlimited hours
Common student employment near Bankstown: retail (Coles, Woolworths, Kmart), hospitality, warehousing, and for tiling students — relevant labouring work on construction sites.
Wyatt Education Group cannot guarantee any migration outcome. Our courses are positioned as Skilled Migration Pathways — qualifications that align with Australian skilled occupation lists and may form part of a migration application.
Whether permanent residency is achievable depends on:
- Your occupation being on the relevant list at time of application
- Points score, age, English level, and other individual factors
- State/territory nomination availability and quota
- Department of Home Affairs policy at time of application
Under visa condition 8202, you must maintain satisfactory course progress. Wyatt monitors your progress each study period under National Code 2018 Standard 8. If you fall behind:
- Wyatt implements an intervention strategy to support you
- You are given the opportunity to access our complaints and appeals process
- If unsatisfactory progress continues after intervention, Wyatt is required to report to the Department of Home Affairs via PRISMS
Under National Code 2018 Standard 7, during the first 6 months of your principal course, Wyatt will only release you to transfer if it is genuinely in your best interests — for example, the course is not suited to your needs, compassionate circumstances apply, or Wyatt is unable to deliver the course.
If your transfer request is refused, you will receive written reasons and the right to appeal via our Complaints and Appeals process. A Letter of Release is issued at no charge.
RPL & Credit Transfer
3 questionsRecognition of Prior Learning (RPL) assesses your existing skills, knowledge, and experience — from work, life, or previous study — against qualification requirements. If you can demonstrate competency, you receive credit without completing the full training.
Under Standards for RTOs 2025 (Standard 1.6), Wyatt actively supports all students to seek RPL. For CPC31320, we recommend a minimum of 12 months full-time equivalent (FTE) tiling experience.
Wyatt uses an integrated gap training model for CPC31320 RPL:
- Submit RPL application with evidence — employment records, references, work photos, tool familiarity
- Portfolio assessment against all 20 units of competency
- Competency gaps identified — units where evidence is insufficient
- Targeted gap training completed (typically ~20 hours per student, not the full 80-hour curriculum)
- Practical assessment — observation, demonstration, knowledge check
- Full CPC31320 qualification issued upon successful completion
- Credit Transfer (CT): You have already completed the same unit in another nationally recognised qualification → automatic exemption based on documentation (certificate, transcript, statement of attainment). No new assessment required. Supported under Standard 1.7.
- RPL: You have the skills from work experience but no formal qualification → assessment of evidence against units. Supported under Standard 1.6.
