What is RPL for Tiling?
Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) is a formal assessment process under the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) and Standards for RTOs 2025 — Outcome Standard 1.6. It allows you to have your existing tiling skills and knowledge formally assessed against the requirements of the CPC31320 Certificate III in Wall and Floor Tiling.
If you've been working as a tiler — in Australia or overseas — you may already have the skills required for a nationally recognised qualification. RPL maps your experience against the 20 units of the CPC31320. For any units where gaps are found, targeted gap training fills only those specific gaps. You don't repeat training you don't need.
The outcome is a complete CPC31320 Certificate III in Wall and Floor Tiling — the same nationally recognised qualification as one obtained through standard 52-week study. Issued by Wyatt Education Group, RTO 46003.
Who Is Tiling RPL For?
Working Tilers in Australia
You've been laying tiles for years but never got the formal qualification. RPL gives you the credential your skills already deserve.
Overseas-Trained Tilers
You trained and worked as a tiler in another country. RPL assesses your overseas experience against Australian CPC31320 standards.
Skilled Migration Applicants
Wall and floor tiling is on Australia's Skills Priority List. A CPC31320 qualification may support your skilled migration application.
Construction Workers Upskilling
You've worked in construction and done tiling work as part of broader roles. RPL formally recognises your transferable skills.
Tiling Business Owners
You've been running your own tiling business. RPL helps you get the formal qualification that may open new licensing and tendering opportunities.
Partial Study Completers
You started a tiling qualification elsewhere but didn't finish. RPL combined with Credit Transfer can fast-track your completion.
How CPC31320 RPL Works at Wyatt
Free Eligibility Consultation — No Obligation
Start with a conversation. Our team reviews your tiling work history, prior learning, and relevant experience against the CPC31320 units. We give you an honest answer about whether RPL is the right pathway — and what evidence you'll need to gather. No paperwork, no commitment at this stage.
Evidence Submission & Formal RPL Assessment
A qualified Wyatt assessor maps your evidence against the 20 units of CPC31320 — one unit at a time. Each unit is assessed independently and rigorously. You demonstrate competency through documentation and a structured assessor interview. Every unit deemed competent is signed off.
Integrated Gap Training — Only What You Need
Where gaps are identified, targeted training fills only those specific units — delivered in small groups at our Bankstown and Lidcombe campuses. Gap training is practical and efficient. You don't sit through content you already know. Gap training cost is included in your RPL fee.
Qualification Issued — CPC31320 Certificate III
Once all 20 units are signed off as Competent, Wyatt Education Group issues your CPC31320 Certificate III in Wall and Floor Tiling — a complete, nationally recognised qualification under the Australian Qualifications Framework. The same credential, regardless of pathway.
What Evidence Do I Need?
